Artwork Description
Ancinet wisdom repesents the Jataka tales which are full of knowledge and wisdom. These are the stories that tell about the previous lives of the Buddha, in both human and animal form. These tales are meant to teach the values of self-sacrifice, honesty, morality and other values to a common person.
The painting shows old scroll with Budhha and his stories related to previous birth. Tortoise and Deer are symbolically shown to represent Buddha’s teachings.
Tortoise symbolizes Buddha’s character which is strong from outside indicating endurance, strength, stability, longevity and soft from inside indicating compassion towards all living beings.
Deer symbolizes harmony, happiness, faithfulness and peace. Deer, by nature, are extremely shy creatures, and their presence in a landscape represents a pure realm absent of fear.
