Born in 1978, Ajay Naryan did his M.F.A. from Chandigarh and B.F.A. from College of Art, Patna University. The artist works with an individual artistic practice where he showcases a colourful culture and landscape details from a bird's eye view. Thematically, the artist focuses on details about the city and nature and encapsulates the same from an aerial view. He employs his artistic techniques to capture the essence of the vibrant culture that he draws inspiration from. Using monochromatic themes as well as colours, Ajay Narayan attempts to capture the banality of everyday existence and uses inspiration from existing nature, the river, roads, gardens, hospitals, existing buildings and nature to develop his visual language. The artist has exhibited in many cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Patna, and Ahmedabad among others. His works are a part of many prestigious collections such as Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Administration, Mussoorie and Bihar Museum, Patna among others.
