Mahaveer Swami, born in 1959 at Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan in India. He has received initial training at home and later did a Diploma in Painting & Sculpture from Rajasthan School of Art in Jaipur. Meanwhile he mastered in Traditional Style of Paintings under guidance of his mentor late Shri Vedpal Sharma “Bannu”. Mahaveer Swami is reviving the best aspects of the sophisticated and refined Bikaner School of Painting with an originality and brilliance among contemporary miniaturists. He stands out of thousands of traditional painters not only because of his great skills in drawing and painting, but also because he has an ability to recognise the difference between the truly fine and mundane. Although he possesses the skill to replicate any other masters’ paintings perfectly he prefers to explore new subjects, new contexts and new forms of expressions.
