About Manjunath Wali
Manjunath was born on 22nd September 1985 and grew up in Huvin Hipparagi, Vijayapura, Karnataka. He did his MFA in Painting from Vijaya Fine Art College, Gadag, Dharwad University.
Manjunath came to Bangalore in 2002 in order to further his career, and has been successful in making a mark in the art circles. His artwork was first displayed in the 7th Karnataka Kala Mela, and he has shown significant growth since. His works were also displayed in the 59th National Exhibition of Art. Manjunath’s painting was one of the 490 pieces selected from across 71 countries for the International Water Colour Society Biennale Exhibition, New Delhi.
His works have been displayed in Japan, UK, Singapore and Dubai and other international locations.
In 2013 and 2014 Manjunath received the Camlin Award Pan India. He won the Lokamanya Tilak National Award and the 45th Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy Award. In 2019 he won the Shenoy Art Foundation Emerging Artist Award for watercolour.
Manjunath has participated in several group shows at the Mahua Art Gallery, Taj West End, Art&Beyond, Sublime Art Gallery, Bangalore, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and the Zolo Art Gallery, Mumbai among others. He has also been a part of many National and State level Art Camps.
Currently Manjunath is living in Bangalore and working as an art teacher.
