Raju Battula is born in 1982 in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, He studied Master of Fine Arts in the central University of Hyderabad where received Bachelor of Fine Arts in S. V. college of Fine Arts (affiliated to Osmania University), His works mainly focuses on the coexistence of western and Indian iconographic images along with Indian miniatures and manuscript text in a single Frame. Raju's works represent a profound relationship with the Indian mythological subjects inspired by the "Ramayana and Mahabharata", He mingles Indian mythological and contemporary elements to plait on involving narrative that is both of realistically Indian contemporary, He also tries to invoke a modern twist to traditional style creating by the versatile colours, Some characters become the central figure who overcomes the work of art completely. The classical patterns and fresh colours at some sections of works to make livelier the picture of surface. He had in several art shows and art camps in India and abroad. He lives and works from Hyderabad.
