The Mor Kuti | Oil Painting By Hari Om Singh
Size 24 x 36 (inches) Oil on Canvas
Mor is the Hindi word for the divine bird whom we commonly call as the Peacock. Apart from being a part of mythology, this bird has always been a part of our lives as well. One such incident was recorded during the time of Lord Krishna on the land of the earth in Vrindavan.
Though, Lord Krishna was a resident of Vrindavan back in time but his land was also shared by the peacocks in the area. There was a particular spot where these birds used to gather and fill the place with their vibrant colors. This place was given the name – The Mor Kuti: the shed of peacocks.
Here they were not frightened by the humans and nor did the people made them go away. The presence of the birds was enjoyed there, just like Radha is shown here.
